The Medical and Health Workers Union of NIgeria (MHWUN) on Friday, immortalised the union’s National Secretary, late Comrade Silas Adamu, by naming a newly constructed hotel after him.
The commissioning of the hotel located at Gwari Avenue, Barnawa Kaduna was performed by the President of the NIgeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Stubs Wabba, and attracted several dignitaries, including national NLC and MHWUN executives, representatives of the Tsaunin Kura GRA Residents Association Sabo GRA), where he was President General until his death, family members and Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), where he was also the President Worldwide before his demise.
Speaking at the inauguration, National President of MHWUN, Comrade Comrade Biobelemoye Joy Josiah described the demise of Comrade Adamu, alongside his wife and daughter from a tragic car accident along Kaduna-Abuja Highway on Monday March 8, 2021 as a big loss for the union.
He commended the Kaduna State chapter of MHWUN for taking the bold step to Immortalise him.
Speaking earlier, the Kaduna State Chairman, MHWUN, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suileman, described the death of Comrade Silas Adamu as devastating.
He said that the state chapter decided to name the structure after him, to motivate others still serving to emulate his examplary lifestyle.
Earlier, Comrade Silas Adamu, his wife and daughter we’re buried at his Sabo GRA residence, with over ten thousand mourners on hand to bid them farewell.
