Tambuwal is the new ‘Sardauna’ of the North – Dogara

    The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is the only leader in Northern Nigeria that is presently exhibiting the traits of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello (Sardaunan Sokoto), Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara has said.
    Dogara stated this while speaking at the opening ceremony of events to mark the 50th anniversary of the late Sardauna, held at the Arewa House, Kaduna on Thursday.
    According to him, Tambuwal is the only one capable of putting the big shoes that the Sardauna left behind 50 years ago when he was assassinated.
    “If there is anyone that can fit into the late Sardauna’s shoes in the North today, it is the Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,” Dogara, represented by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon Ado Doguwa,said.
    He explained that during the build-up to the election of the Speaker of the 8th Assembly, Tambuwal who he said is forging the unity of the North, supported Dogara all through and contributed to his emergence.
    “He did this to emulate Sardauna because he felt that we have to carry our Northern Christian brothers along,” he added.
    The Speaker praised the Sardauna Foundation and legacy organizations for organizing the event, assuring them of the support of the House of Representatives, especially its Northern Caucus in all their future endeavours.
