Enugu Police recover jeep stolen from church, apprehend suspect

The Nigeria Police Force, Enugu State Command on Tuesday, engaged armed robbers who snatched a jeep in a gun battle that saw the robbers run for their lives, abandoning the vehicle.
This was made known in a statement which JATUSKI Communication acquired.
According to the statement, the Toyota Highlander Jeep with registration number ENU 108 MM, was recovered after the Police received a distress call and swung into action immediately.
“In Enugu State, on 19th January 2016 at 4pm, on a distress call to Control Room that robbers had snatched a vehicle one Toyota Highlander jeep at Christ Church, Uwani-Enugu ,Police operatives swung into action.
“In a gun battle that ensued, the robbers abandoned the vehicle with Reg. No. ENU 108 MM and took to their heels. In a manhunt for the suspects Mr Ugochukwu Ekwechi was arrested with a locally made shot gun and one (1) live cartridge,” it informed
The statement added that investigation was progress, to reach a logical concusion.
