There is yet another interesting development coming out of Benue Zone C ahead of the Senatorial re-run election billed for February 13 as the paramount traditional ruler of Oju Local Government Area Augustine Ogbu has bluntly told the APC candidate, Daniel Onjeh that he will not be getting their support.
The Oju monarch stated this when the AP team went to Oju, apparently to canvass for support ahead of the re-run.
Our source informed that the Oju District Head said that the APC-led state government has further marginalized the Idoma nation, in so many ways, making the previous PDP administrations better by far.
“The APC has openly proved that they not only despise the Idoma nation, they are taking us for a ride. By not appointing an Idoma son as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) as was the tradition,” the source informed.
It was also gathered that Onjeh was unable to deliver his speech at the gathering because the venue was overtaken by violence, that saw those gathered run to safety.
It would be recalled that JATUSKI Communications had earlier reported the misadventure of Onjeh in Agatu LGA where he was rejected for being a cultist as well as described as a stooge of Senator George Akume.
Onjeh will be contesting against two-term Senate President, David Mark in a contest many see as a fight between the Idoma to re-elect Mark and the Tiv who are bent on ensuring Onjeh wins.
