Minority leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Ogar on Monday blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the lost of over N2 trillion to fuel subsidy between 2012 when former President Goodluck Jonathan attempted to remove subsidy till date, even as he demanded that the APC tender unreserved apology and seek the forgiveness of the former president.
Ogor said this while addressing newsmen after the Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP National Assembly caucus meeting, where he described Jonathan as a visionary leader who saw in 2012 what the APC is just trying to conjecture in 2016.
The Minority Leader however said that Nigeria lost over N2tr to fuel subsidy since 2012 because of the stiff opposition with which APC then ACN and other enemies of the economy resisted the move by Jonathan to end the subsidy regime in a one week “occupy Nigeria” protest with a relentless war of propaganda wedge against the decision that crippled economic activities in all parts of the country.
He said; ” the position of the party is clear when it comes to subsidy removal, it as null and void as the board of Petroleum Product Pricing and Regulatory Agency PPPRA charged with fixing fuel prices is yet to be constituted.
He also condemned the Minister of State for Petroleum Ibe Kachukwu for usurping the powers of another agency with regards to fuel price fixing. just as PDP vowed to reconcile all aggrieved members in the just concluded congresses within 48hrs.
On his part,Senate Minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio said that merchineries have been put in place to reconcile PDP members who were aggrieved as a result of the just concluded ward, state and zonal congresses.
Senator Akpabio boasted that PDP has what it take to wrestle power out of APC come 2019, urging all members to bury the hatched and work together to make the party great once more.
He further added that the causes will meet with all PDP governors later in the day while a committee has already been constituted to bring all factions together to ensure that the National congress coming up on Saturday in Rivers is not truncated.
He also promised that the complaints of the PDP concerned forum Will be given the needed attention.
