In furtherance of its quest to keep developing the interest of Nigerians in the game of basketball, the Ahmadu Bello University Basketball Foundation (ABUBBF) has concluded plans to host the May 2016 edition of its 3-Aside Basketball Competition.
This was contained in a statement signed by Coach Oliver B. Johnson.
According to the statement, the competition which will see teams earn allowances based on their win or loss records, is billed for May 28 at the institution’s gymnasium hall.
The competition will witness special attraction, featuring a novelty match between ABU Veterans versus a combination of ABU Alumni and ABU Staff.
The one-day competition is also expected to feature matches from old students, new students and all female teams.
The statement informed that an alumni of the institution, Musa A Kida, who is now the Deputy Managing Director of Total Nigeria Plc, as well as the chairman of Rivers State Basketball Association is bankrolling the event.
AUTHENTIC Sports gathered that at the end, winners would be presented with the prestigious ABUBBF trophy.
