*says NASS members are rogues
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo held a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the. Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Monday, but cleverly avoided to disclose what was discussed at the meeting.
But AUTHENTIC News Daily suspects the topic discussed may not be unconnected to the re opening of the murder of Chief Bola Ige or the raging militancy issue that is worsening the economic situation in the country.
Chief Obvasanjo said that he was at the Villa to deliver messages from Liberia and Gambia to the President.
“Also yesterday, I came back from Seychelles Island where I attended this year’s annual general meeting of Africa’s Export Development Bank. There are aspects of the meeting I think I should update the President,” he explained.
When prompted by newsmen, he said the ongoing revelation on budget padding in the National Assembly only confirmed his earlier position that lawmakers are “armed robbers and rogues .”
He said the best way out of the current mess was to ensure that only men of integrity are elected into the National Assembly.
The former President said he was sure that those who did not believe him when he made his first statement would now do so with the fresh revelation.
Obasanjo had in 2012 described the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly as institutions filled with “rogues and armed robbers” at an event in Lagos attended by two former heads of state, Yakubu Gowon and Ernest Shonekan
