BREAKING: Two universities on lockdown after several injuries during shooting, stabbing

A manhunt is underway after up to nine shots were shot at the University of Illinois and six people were injured in a stabbing attack in Boston.

First reports in Illinois said at least five to nine people were shot after gunfire was heard in an alleyway at the US university’s Champaign campus in the early hours of Sunday morning.Reports two people have died are as yet unconfirmed.Officers said the shooter has left the area and they are searching for the suspect.Several shots were fired in Green Street between Third and Fourth streets at about 1am local time (7am BST), the Daily Illini reported.An hour after the shooting, reports of a mass stabbing near a university campus in Boston emerged.Police said two suspects were at large after six people were stabbed in the early hours of Sunday morning on Tremont Street in the Theatre District.
One is in a critical condition and is in surgery, Boston Police Superintendent Bernard O’Rourke said.
