
He said despite the widespread cries emanating from many states in the
country due to delay and late payment of salaries, workers in his
local government have received their salaries as regularly as
possible.
“We are very lucky to have Malam Nasir el-Rufai as governor of Kaduna
State who has not been holding our salaries.
“In Kaduna State and Kauru Local Government, I don’t think if there is
anyone who is owing salaries even for one month. We are grateful to
God, and to the governor,” he said.
Bakan who enjoined the workers to reciprocate the governor’s good
gesture by being punctual and doing their work well, said any council
staff found wanting in coming to work late would face the wrath of the
law.
While appealing to workers in Kauru Council to live in peace with one
another, Bakan said development cannot occur in an atmosphere of
rancour and disharmony.
Bakan also noted that constantly being in touch and meeting with the
people to discuss issues affecting them remains the best way to
reduce incidents of crises, adding that the peace and security
achieved in the area were borne out of this dialogue.
