An agenda setting summit for the security and development of Northern Nigeria, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) would be opening in Kaduna on Tuesday.
The two day summit, with a theme: Rethinking the Security and Development Agenda for Northern Nigeria is billed for the SABMF Hall, opposite Murtala Square.
On Day One, former Director General and Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr. Suleyman A. Ndanusa would be the keynote speaker, presenting a paper titled: ‘Northern Nigeria in Perspective: Rethinking the Security and Development Agenda.’
A book, ‘Northern States Perspectives on Key Issues’ would be presented and remarks will be made by t. General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
A technical session which will feature former Chief of Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai will end the day’s activities as a Guest Speaker with a presentation titled: ‘Addressing the Security Conundrum for Sustainable Peace and Development of Northern Nigeria.’
On Day Two, Vice Chancellor of Veritas University, Professor Mike Kwanashe will set the ball rolling with a presentation titled: ‘Towards a Competitive Economic Development Agenda for Northern Nigeria.’
A second Guest Speaker, Professor Ibrahim Danjuma who is the Dean Faculty of Education, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi will speak on ‘Situating Education in the Development Matrix of Northern Nigeria.’
