Embattled members and signatories of the Northern youth groups who threatened Igbos with three months notice to vacate the region, have reportedly taken to their heels following the order given by Governor Nasir el-Rufai to arrest the group.
But Kaduna Police Command has said that they are yet to receive any directive from authorities to arrest the group.
Uconfirmed sources however revealed that two members of the Northern Youth group who addressed the controversial press conference have been arrested, and cooling their feet in cell.
But when contacted, the Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command Mr. Agyole Abeh said his command has not received any official directive from the government authority authorising them to arrest the group.
It would be recall that the Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasir el-Rufai ordered for immediate arrest of the youth group over the three month notice of quit handed down to Igbos, as reported by most national dailies.
A northerner, Malam Garba Lawal who called from Enugu, in the East at the time of filing this report, told our correspondent that he is not in support of the Northern youth groups’ call.
