A group under the aegis of Niger Delta Peace and Development (NDPF) on behalf of the people of the Niger Delta on Friday stated that the recent linking of the chairman of Ocean Marine Security Limited, Capt. Hosa Okunbor to the controversial oil swap deal was a deliberate plot by enemies of progress to tarnish his image before the public especially the international community.
The group made the assertion in a statement signed its Coordinator, Comrade Kingsley. O. Toukumor and made available to AUTHENTIC News Daily.
The group condemned  and described the blackmail as “deliberate plot” saying,”this is an open wicked from the pit of hell. The Okunbor we know has good intention for Nigeria and Niger Delta, he should not be victimized unjustly”.
While noting that the people of the Niger Delta are totally against any plot to blackmail with a view to Capt.Hosa Okunbor innocently, the group adviced those behind the evil plot to seek his forgiveness and that of God.
The group also pointed out that the people of the Niger Delta especially the youths are fervently praying daily for Okunbor who according to him,” has contributed and still contributing immensely to human capital development in the region.”
“One of it is the establishment of his $750million farm in Edo state, that is creating employment for over 85,000 youths and graduates across the Niger Delta region”.
The controversial Offshore Processing Agreements known as oil swap was initiated by the former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, for which she is being probed.
