Former Chairman of the Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), Alhaji Ahmadu Yaro Kokacola, has joined the league of prominent Nigerians condemning the invasion of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Secretariat by thugs alleged to have been sponsored by politicians.
Alhaji Yaro Kokacola condemned the act when he paid a solidarity visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Kaduna State Council on Tuesday.
“As a centre is the last hope of every common man including the agrieved version of the APC. They can always run to NUJ to air their views as such, the council should be respected because it is a non partisan,” he added
He also said those who are trying to test the power of the press should know that the profession is more than what they think, while calling on government and other agencies to investigate the matter and bring the offenders to book.
In his response, the chairman NUJ Kaduna States, Comrade Adamu Yusuf, thanked them for identifying with the NUJ family, saying what happened is very sad and was the first of its kind in the history of the profession.
