A political pressure group under the aegies of Anioma Elite has called
on its members to participate in the ongoing Voter Registration
exercise in other to be eligible to demonstrate their franchise and
cast their votes for the rightful candidate in order to know their
strength, political prowess and ability in the forth coming Delta
state local government election.
AUTHENTIC News Daily gathered this from the Delta State Chairman of Anioma Elite, Dr. Victor Ebomah who made the call ahead of the forth coming local government elections shortly after its general meeting held in Warri on Thursday.
Dr Victor Ebomah stressed the need for Anioma Elite members to go for
INEC registration saying without registration, they cannot vote
in the Local Government election in Warri and its environs as well as
other parts of the State.
“And also vote back Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa to office during the governorship election 2019,” he advised.
While describing the forth coming local government election as
“Microscopic” Ebomah said,”The bigger one is the governorship election but I will want us to use the local government election to test run our strength and prowess, our ability to harness and mobilize our people in Warri and environs for the forthcoming local government election to see how relevant we will
be in the system.”
Ebomah noted that Anioma Elite as a body has not endorsed any candidate in the forthcoming local government election pointing out that, “We are working in consonance with the PDP” and we mobilize our members and vote for any candidate the Peoples Democratic Party endorses as its flag bearer.
The Vice Chairman, Syvelster Asilekwu corroborated the statements of
the chairman saying,” That is a very good development.
Asilekwu stated that they want their members to be registered because
they want Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa back in Office for a second
term in 2019.
He vowed that Anioma Elite will do everything possible bring the governor back to Office saying, “That is why we are mobilizing our members to be registered. Come that election day, we will all go out there and ensuring we cast votes for him,” he added.
