Idris, KRPC EDS Bags NUPENG’s Peaceful Industrial Relations Award

Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, Executive Director Services (EDS), Kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals Company (KRPC) and Patron of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG),Kaduna Zone, has bagged the Peaceful Industrial Relations of the Nigerian oil and gas industry award by the NUPENG.

The KRPC also received a corporate recognition award by the NUPENG, during its 4th Quadrennial Zonal Delegate Conference at Top Galaxy Hotel yesterday in Kaduna.

The National President of NUPENG, Igwe Achese, while presenting the award, assured that, the incoming leadership at the zone will continue to give Kaduna Refinery management, staff and other stakeholders all the necessary support towards achieving a required goal and optimal production capacity.

The president, represented by Idris Gana, the outgoing Kaduna Zonal Chairman, described the EDS “as a friend of the union and one of the Nigerians who are dedicated to ensuring industrial harmony between staff and management towards the development of the oil and gas industry in the zone.”

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Zonal Chairman, idris Gana, while commending the effort of government in its attempt to salvage the country’s economy, however, frowned at governments inability to make clear-cut policies in its relationship with workers.

“The minimum wage is still far below the living wage ; casualization is still the order of the day and has therefore drastically reduced the membership strength of our Union.

” However, it is our hope and prayers that the new Labour Centre (ULC) is issued its certificate to create a working relationship between the government and all the affiliated Union in the centre,” he added.

He commended government in its efforts to curbing corruption and admonished the leadership to pump these monies recovered into the economy.

” Another milestone is the effort the government has put in place to curbing the incessant kidnapping which has become a monster bedeviling our country’s growth and has also inflicted pains and poverty in many Nigerian homes,” he noted.
