Following a petition written by the Contractors’ Forum of Kaduna State with the claim that due process and rule of law were not adhere to in the award of the 2014 SUBEB intervention projects, a group known as Contractors Association of Kaduna State has debunked the petition of the group, saying that the claim is untrue.
This was contained in a statement issued to Journalists in Kaduna on Tuesday and signed by the Secretary of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State, Alh. Ibrahim Sardauna.
Part of the statement reads: “I would like to state clearly that the said contractor’s forum of Kaduna State is unknown to us and has no connection to our association. The said Secretary of that forum, Saminu Abubakar is also unknown to us and not a member of our association.
“Concerning the UBE 2014 intervention procurement exercise, members of this association are generally satisfied with the process followed from pre-qualification, financial bidding, award and implementation of the project”.
The group who lauded the Kaduna State Government for its transparency in the process of awarding contracts in the State says: “It is unfortunate that unknown persons of dubious identity and intentions are trying to rubbish the image of the able governor of Kaduna State and his trusted lieutenants”.
In its statement, the group called on the Kaduna State Government to investigate the forum and bring them to book for spreading false information and tarnishing the image of government officials and the contractors in Kaduna State.
