The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel on Tuesday October 10 picked former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo and Chief Thompson Okpoko, SAN as Patrons of the union.
NUJ Warri Chairman, Comrade Akpokona Omafuaire noted that the NUJ chose the duo because they are people who can lead the union in the right direction.

Omafuaire said,”We want you to be our patron so that we can tap from your wisdom, experience and contacts in other to move forward.”
Omafuaire disclosed this when members of the Union paid a courtesy visit to the former Minister at his residence in Effurun near Warri.
He stated that the former investiture of the two legal professionals
will take place during the NUJ Warri forthcoming Press Week.
In swift response, the former Minister,Alaowei Broderick Bozimo
accepted to be patron just as he appealed to members of the Union to be objective in their reportage.
“With all sense of humility, I accept to be patron. Make your
profession proud. Hear from both sides. Don’t be intimidated, don’t
disclose the source of your information to anybody.”
