Tears Flow As KADSIECOM Bids Finance Commissioner Farewell


    Tears flowed freely at the boardroom of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) at a valedictory session on Friday for its outgoing Commissioner of Finance and Account, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli as he is appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Thailand.

    Speaker after speaker extolled his virtues as they recalled first encounter with him and how he related with them all through the two years he spent at the commission.
    In her remarks, the Chairman of KADSIECOM, Dr. Saratu Binta Dikko-Audu described the outgoing commissioner as a committed and hard working person, who inspired all those who served under him.
    She said that he would be missed, but was happy that he was not just leaving the commission, but was leaving to serve as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Thailand.
    “Even as you go, we pray that more elevations come for you in the future,” she added.
    In his response, Bamalli thanked the commission and the chairman for honouring him with the valedictory meeting, while expressing hope that the commission will soar even higher in its professionalism.
    “Right now I am compelled to do the hardest job in my life. I don’t want to talk much, my heart has been broken already by the crying. I don’t want to do the same thing, so I will try not to cry.
    ” All those that have spoken have spoken have said things about myself, which till now, I never knew about. All is well that ends well,” he said.
    He added that even though he would no longer be with the commission the two years he spent there has made him bond with several people, a friendship  that will last forever,” he added.
    High point of the meeting was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing commissioner.
