Angry mob at about 7am on Saturday October 28 lynched a 22 years old suspected thief, Jeffry Ibori for allegedly burgling  traders shops, stealing rods, generating sets, air conditioners and over valued at several millions of naira along the Cinema Site link road in Okumagba Layout,Warri, Delta State.

 

AUTHENTIC NEWS DAILY gathered that the suspect was caught by one of
the traders who has been monitoring him following missing items in his
shop and that of his neighbours.

Unknown to him, the suspect who came in with an iron trolley had
already burgled into a caravan shop belonging to one Peter Ezenwanyi
and packed all the iron rods.

The trader raised alarm and called his neighbour,Peter Ezenwanyi who
quickly dashed into the scene.

They and other passerby beat the suspect to stupor before dragging him
to the Police Station”B” Division in Warri.

In a chat, the suspect stated that he does not have a house that is why he is stealing under the guise of scavenging for scraps.

Ibori who confessed to have committed the offence stated that it is
the first time he is stealing at the shop which he burgled and stole
rods.

He stated that he usually sells the rods and other stolen items to an
unknown person at the Jetty behind Igbudu Primary School in Warri.

 

Owner of the shop where the suspect burgled and stole rods, Mr. Peter
Ezenwanyi noted that Jeffry Ibori is a thief stressing that,” he has
steadily break into my caravan shop and packed all my rods and other
items.”

 

Ezenwanyi claimed that his neighbour caught Ibori in the act noting
that as he(suspect) was being pursued, he was shouting”Oleh, oleh,
oleh so that it look like it is the person pursuing him that is a
thief.)

Ezenwanyi vowed to press charges against Ibori and make him account
for all his stolen goods in time past.

Contacted, the Divisional Police Officer”B” Division in Warri,CSP
Anieteh Eyoh could not pick calls put accross to his mobile phone but
a Police Source who craved anonymity stated that the matter is under
investigation.
