Kano Has Highest Number Of Post Graduate Degree Holders In Nigeria, Kwankwaso Says As He Bags See Magazine 2017 Award



    By virtue of his commitment to human capital development in his state while he was in charge, Kano State now boasts of the highest number of post graduate degree holders, not just in the North, but in Nigeria.

    Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Kano State Governor expressed this while receiving an award as See Magazine Man of the Year on Historical project 2017 from the management of See Magazine in Kaduna on Saturday.

    According to him, the landmark achievement of his administration in educating citizens of the state is already yielding results within a short period of time.

    He said that besides establishing two universities, the North West University and the Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil, while governor, his administration sponsored several indigenes to study both as undergraduates and post graduate students abroad and in top private universities in the country.

    Speaking further, Kwankwaso said that his administration also constructed 300 hostels in several federal universities, a development that favoured their students.

    “I only told the universities where the hostels were built to ensure our students gained admission and two years after, all Kano citizens seeking admission into universities were admitted,” he said.

    Kwankwaso thanked those that worked with him as a governor, minister and bow as a Senator for contributing to success recorded, while also thanking See Magazine for singling him out for the prestigious award.

    He charged the media to always ensure they discharge their duties professionally, ensuring that the unity of Nigeria is placed above every sentiment.

    In his remarks earlier, Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, Comrade Adamu Yusuf said that the council remains non political and open to all political parties and groups.

    He said that Kaduna being the political capital of the not only the North, but the entire country, was honoured to be host of the presentation of the award to the Senator.

    Also speaking, former Kaduna NUJ Council Chairman and Chairman Editorial Board See Magazine, Mr. Andrew Fadason said that Kwankwaso deserved the award because of his landmark achievements as governor, minister and Senator.

    Chairman and CEO See Magazine, Mr. Ahmed Dauda presented a copy of the magazine to the Senator, who said he was not surprised by its quality in content and print, in view of the calibre of people that make up its management team.?

    The award presentation was witnessed by top management team of See Magazine which included the Consulting Editor, Jacob Onjewu Dickson and it’s Director Operations, Bashir Bello.

    Also on ground to witness the presentation, were the Kwankwaso Zazzau Social Media Team, which turned out in numbers.
