Controversies on how the outcome of the Kaduna State Competency Test for teachers should be dealt with is still raging on, as labour unions have an appeal to the state government to retrain the affected teachers instead of sacking them.
Three sister unions made the appeal when they paid a visit to the Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Nuhu Goroh (Kagarko Constituency).
The unions; National Union of Teachers (NUT), National Union of Local Government Employees  (NULGE) and Medical Association Workers Union from Kagarko Constituency said the aim of their visit was to present their complaints to their representative at the State Assembly in person of Hon. Nuhu Goroh so that he will forward their complain to the Executive.
The NUT branch Chairman (Kagarko) Comrade Anthony Malaki said sacking of the Primary School Teachers who failed the competency test is not the solution, Training will serve better than sacking.
NULGE Chairman, Kagarko Local Government, Comrade Christopher Kasuwa also complained of outstanding salaries which are yet to be paid in the Local Government as well as some traditional Leaders who were removed and are yet to receive their benefits.
Medical Association workers Union Chairman, Comrade Umar Handan also lamented over the 30% core heads which has not been implemented at the primary health care centres.
The sister Unions called on Hon.Goroh to forward their complains to the State Government so that everyone can feel the dividends of this democracy.
Responding, Hon.Goroh  has assured them he will forward their complains to the Hon. Speaker so that their complains are treated as they deserve.
These Unions are not kicking against anything good  for the education sector but they are just suggesting better ways to detect unqualified teachers. He said.
Outstanding allowances, leave grants, promotions and in-service given to workers at the Local Governments do not get financial backing.
He also appreciated them as they thought of bringing their complains to the rightful place, it means they have realised the importance of the Assembly.
These unions also apologised for the attack during the protest, even though they were not the ones responsible.
