Corps Members Honour Senator Gaya

    The chairman of Senate Committee on Works, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, (APC Kano South) has been conferred with an Exemplary Award by the National Youths Corpers Forum of Nigeria

    Conferring the award on the senator, president of the corps members, Comrade Esan Abraham Smart said that the members are spurred into recognising Senator Gaya by the exemplary leadership he is exhibiting as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Works going round all geopolitical zones ensuring that contracts awarded on federal roads and other federal projects are executed qualitatively.

    He explained that never before has the country witnessed the type of patriotism being exhibited by Senator Gaya and the other committee members. He said that gone are the days that contracts are awarded to cronies of men in power and abandoned soon after it was awarded. “Going round the country to ensure that roads projects are executed for durability is a testimony that there is hope for the country after all,” Abraham said.

    Comrade Esan added that for Senator Gaya to stand out among 109 colleagues of his, is that Nigerians youths still have public officers they can look up to as mentor.

    Responding, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, who is the  Vice-president Inter-parliamentary Union for Africa, said that the awarded is dedicated to members of the committee and entire senators of the federal republic who has stood by the committee to achieve this feat.

    He particularly acknowledge the Senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki who found him capable and worthy to be entrusted with the responsibility.

    He thanked the Forum for the award saying that the fact that Nigerians has taken note of the committee’s commitment to wellbeing of Nigerians particularly the youths is an encouragement for them to do more.
