Delta Assembly Summons ULO Consultant Over Failed Asaba Int’l Airport Contract

    The Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Works on Wednesday in Asaba assured the Delta State Government of the readiness of the Committee on Works to ensure the completing of Asaba International Airport.

    The Delta State House of Assembly Committee of Works Chairman,
    Hon, (Chief) Evance Ochuko Ivwurie made  this known Wednesday at the ongoing two-day investigation of the project work done so far.

    The House Committee on Works  dropped heavy knocks on the Chairman/CEO ULO Consultant Limited, Chief Uche Okpuno over poor execution of work done on the Asaba International Airport project, thus putting Delta State State Government in deficits.

    “The Asaba Airport project is a very vital project to the socio-economic life of Deltans and the State Government, The committee will do everything possible to ensure that the right thing is done and the project is completed to international standards”.

    “ULO Consultant Limited has been called upon to defend itself on several allegations leveled against the Contractor handling the failed Asaba International Airport project.”

    Hon, Evance further stated, “The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA)
    as an independent arm of government is responsible for the business of
    lawmaking and  participate in debates on proposed legislation.
    Legislators work on making changes to existing laws or passing new
    legislation based on Deltans and their constituents’ needs.”

    Hon. Ivwurie reiterated that it is right of this Committee to give the
    Contractor handling the International Airport project, Chairman of ULO
    Consultant Limited, Chief Uche Okpuno fair hearing in order to defend
    himself of the allegations leveled against the company by the Ministry
    of Works.
