The Delta Steel Company (DSC) pensioners have been given hope to smile again with the promise from Pensions Transition Administrative Directorate. (PTAD).
The Secerratry of the board, Mrs Sharon Ikeazor alias Mama Pension who addressed journalistu on Thursday at Wetland Event Center. Orhuworru, Udu Local Govt Area of Delta State said President Muhammadu Buhari, has been able to come to the rescue of Delta Steel retirees after 12 years of neglect.
“One of the greatest injustice is when a worker who has finished serving the country is not paid pensions at the end of the day. This government is doing everything possible to make sure it clears all the past arrears.
“This exercise is not about D.S.C alone, we have other cases. We started with the New Nigerian Newspapers, we have been able to verify them, and also the NICON Insurance, most of the private agencies, we have gotten approval to verify and pay ten privatize agencies who have been neglected.
“That is what we are doing, collaborating with B.P.E, Bureau of Public Enterprises. We will now verify and pay them, put them on pay roll. For their pensions,” she said.
