White Paper Report: Govt Will Deal With Troublemakers, Okowa Vows

    Delta Sate Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday November 29
    vowed that his Government will deal decisively with any troublemaker
    in Aladja, Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba Communities if they go back to attack
    each other after the state government has implemented the “White Paper
    Report”.

    Governor Okowa made the vow during speeches delivered separately at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s campaign at Ogbe-Ijoh and Otor-Udu Secondary Schools in Warri South-West and Udu Local Government Areas today.

    The governor stated that his administration has exercised enough restraint in tackling the lingering crisis between the three communities.

    Governor Okowa said this will include the highly placed in the
    communities saying,” Nobody will beg me” just as he appealed to the
    people of the three communities to be calm.

    Governor Okowa stressed that his government is working with security
    agencies to resolve the lingering crisis between the communities.

    According to Governor Okowa, “let me apologize for the crisis between
    Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh people. The crisis has caused many bad things
    with many dead. We are doing things to resolve the problem with
    Security Agencies. We have restrained ourselves so that it will not
    look like we are oppressing anyone with government powers. I also
    appeal to you people to calm down. Once the White Paper is
    implemented, We are coming to the Council and We take a decision,
    Anyone who does contrary will bear the consequences because enough is
    enough.”

    “I dey beg for the time, make everybody calm down. Nobody will beg me
    because from the top to the bottom.

    Earlier in a chat with newsmen, the President of Ijaw Youth
    Council (IYC) in Ogbe-Ijoh, Engr. Smart Okosun appealed to the governor
    to claim and establish a government infrastructure that will benefit
    the people of Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja Communities on the 289 Acres
    disputed land  to end the crisis between them and their neighbours.
