In what may be described as a lingering feud between the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Jigawa State have started manifesting when the former gubernatorial aspirant in 2015 general election, Pharmacist Ubale Hashim Yusuf who lost to incumbent Governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru said, he has withdrawn his support for the party at state level
Ubale Hashim who held a press conference alongside other party faithful said, “I’m formally anouncing my support to only President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 polls and no any other candidate will enjoy this support from the ‘Hashimiyya ‘ movement”, he declared.
He further accused Governor Badaru for supporting Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in 2015 primary election, betraying the party supporters in spite series of promises he had earlier made that were never kept by him.
He said, “the emergence of Badaru Abubakar as governor in the state was not the popular view of all members of the party but for the sake of peace to reign we supported the governor but along the line we realised that the present administration in the state is no longer popular to continue with the APC agenda”, he declared.
Pharm. Ubale Hashim stressed thaf his loyalty and support will only be to President Buhari insisting that Governor Muhammed Badaru Abubakar has not regained the honour for his vote again as the popularity of the party is waning down at the grassroots.
In his reaction, the state All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Ado Sani Kiri has debunked the allegation, saying that Ubale Hashim is only pursuing his personal interest in the party which he describes as unfortunate.
Kiri explained that, most people even in the All Progressives Congress didn’t understand the messages of Change which they campaigned for in the 2015 general election.
“We came to clean the mess of PDP and we have succeeded in blocking the leakages from public treasury which is a sacred trust that must not be tampered with.
“People expect Governor Badaru to be spending public funds extravagantly without taking Into cognisance the dwindled economic situation we found the state when we came onboard and the numbers of uncompleted inherited capital projects we meet, which are now at 80% completion stages.
“We would not repeat the mistakes of PDP. The state is in paradigm shift, we expect people like Ubale Hashim to understand this better,” he lamented.
The party Chairman further explained that, Ubale Hashim is one of the greatest beneficiaries of APC, because the meager as a slogan of our party means, an amalgamation of various political parties, he (Hashimiyya) came from the defunct ACN and the numbers ACN faithful appointed in this administration is commendable even the Governor came from ACN.
“We are urging Pharm Ubale Hashim Yusuf to be a dedicated member of the party as he used to be, as Governor Badaru is working tirelessly to get for him federal government appointment,” he said.
