Kaduna @ 100: 1,200 Horses To Feature In Massive Durbar, Bantex Says As He Attends Carol Night



    The northern traditional rulers are synergizing to stage the biggest durbar ever in Nigeria’s history to mark Kaduna’s 100 years.
    The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex stated this, while speaking at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), 2017 Christmas Carol, held at ECWA Gospel Church, Narayi High Cost, Kaduna on Sunday evening.
    According to him, the Durbar which is expected to attract several tourists would be held on Saturday.
    “We have kick started the,100 years celebration with a church service held today (Sunday) incidentally, the same church where it was held would be 100 years old in January.
    ” It marks the movement from Zungeru in 1917 to Kaduna which became the first well planned northern city,” he said.
    He explained that Governor Nasir el-Rufai was excited when he received the invitation for the Carol Night, but regretted that he could not attend
    “He said he would have been here himself, but is away in Lagos.
    “He called but could not reach me, so later SSG gave me the message,” he added.
    Bantex said that in Kaduna State, they have 2.2 million pupils, one which future they owe it upon themselves a duty to fulfil, according to oaths taken when sworn-in.
    “The future of the pupils equally important like that of the teachers.
    “We are not interested in taking the money of any teacher and putting it in our pockets.
    “We are taking out 22,000 teachers and replacing with 25,000,” he said.
