The Delta State Chapter of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil & Gas on Tuesday January 9 elected a new executive to administer its affairs in the next four years.
The new executive emerged at HOSTCOM 2nd Annual General Meeting which held at Ekpan,Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
In and address,the out-gone Chairman,Hon. (Dr.) Peter.K. Egedegbe advised the newly elected Executive not to jettison the idea of working close to government to benefit noting that it does not mean that the pressure group should be mortgaged.

While pointing out that his executive had challenges during his four year in Office, Egedegbe said,” Inspite of these challenges, we were able to achieve alot of feats for the Host Communities.”
Egedegbe listed some of the challenges to include the Court case instituted by the former Chairman, Benjamin Iwetan against the body.
According to him ,”Benjamin Iwetan refused to relinquish Office and took us to Court which we eventually won after a protracted three years.”
“Dr. Emuh’s illegal activities that continuously put the State HOSTCOM on her toes.”
Egedegbe also mentioned some of his achievements which includes the SEEFOR Intervention, collaboration with Government, securing HOSTCOM House as Secretariat, Pipeline facilities contracts and the consolidation of HOSTCOM as a tru umbrella body for Communities.
In a remark, HOSTCOM Acting National Chairman, High Chief (Dr.) Benjamin Style Taramiebi insisted that the Bayelsa State Chairman of the body,Chief Bob Nabena remains suspended.
Tamaraebi also announced that Comrade Boma Albert is now the new Acting HOSTCOM Chairman in Bayelsa State.
“The Bayelsa State Chairman, Bob Nabena remains suspended and Comrade Boma Albert is now the Acting Chairman.”
Taramiebi noted that it is their way of putting to an end groups defrauding the body in the guise of building modular refinery for HOSTCOM as well as all those that are collecting money from people in the name of giving them pipeline surveillance jobs.
Taramiebi said,”This act must stop this year” just as he urged members to give the incoming Executive the needed support to the out-gone Executive to succeed.
He assured them of achieving success with the support from the various states, HOSTCOM.
“I foresee that there is peace and Unity in Delta State Chapter of HOSTCOM.”
“HOSTCOM is a pressure group and we pressurize the federal, state and local governments to release the dividends that accrues to HOSTCOM.”
While noting that the Delta State Chapter of HOSTCOM has made a remarkable mark, Taramiebi urged other State HOSTCOM to emulate Delta State.
