Following the dissolution of the Hon. Solomon Ikegwuru led executive of the Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO) the Board of trustees has appointed Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu as the Chairman of the Electoral Panel.
Gujungu, the National President of the Arewa Youth Forum, is a well known and respected youth leader in the north, with experience in youth activities and activism spanning decades in the north and across the country.
He is also an Alumni of the International visitors Leadership programme, (IVLP) of the United States of America Exchange programme where Gujungu represents Nigeria in 2013.
NYO is banking on his experience to conduct a credible polls that will take the organization to the next level.
The Gujungu led electoral panel is expected to conduct an election that would usher in another executive to pilot the affairs of the youth organization.
According to the Secretary Board of Trustees of NYO,
Dr Olushogun Sunday Adeleyi, the election is expected to take place in Abuja the federal capital territory on 10th February.
The board also disclosed that not less than 114 delegates across the country are expected to cast their votes as there will be 3 delegates representing each state chapter.
The delegates will comprise of the state Chairmen, Secretaries and women leaders. Other delegates include the 6 zonal coordinators from the six geo-political zones of the country and pioneer members of the organization.
NYO the foremost youth organization in Nigeria established in 1980 has structures across the 36 states of the federation, and Abuja.
