No fewer than seven people were said to be injured on Monday in Kaduna as a 38-seater bus rammed into a Hilux van said to be carrying the driver and three passengers.
AUTHENTIC News Daily exclusively reports that the accident occurred at about 3:15pm, when the commercial bus driver was attempting to beat traffic lights at the Peugeot Junction area of the city.
Eye witnesses who were in the bus said they boarded the vehicle which was full to capacity from Kasuwa, in the city’s Central Business Area, enroute Sabon Tasha, a densely populated area of the metropolis.
Officials of the Kaduna State Traffic Enforcement Agency (KASTELA), who pleaded anonymity because they were not in position to speak to the press, said that they were on duty when they heard the sound of the collision and rushed to the scene.
Those who were wounded were seen been evacuated by law enforcement and traffic control agencies.
