The Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Police Command, ASP Aliyu Mukhtar has confirmed an attack in Southern Kaduna community on Saturday, resulting to loss of lives.
He said the attack which took place in a Kaninkon Chiefdom resulted to loss of four lives, when speaking on phone with AUTHENTIC News Daily.
“Yes it is true. There was an attack yesterday in that village, under Kaninkon Chiefdom,” he said.
ASP Mukhtar said that the security personnel in area have the situation under control and are hunting for the perpetrators.
“The dead have been evacuated to the hospital and Commander Operation Safe Haven, DPO Kafanchan and Commander 62 Police Mobile Force are at the scene and have been able to douse tension that was rising'” he said.
He said the fifth victim is responding to treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, reports said four persons killed are palm wine tappers in Bakin Kogi village in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State by unknown gunmen.
The victims according to a source said they were attacked and killed in the bush while they were tapping the palm wine.
Bakin Kogi, the village where the incident happened according to the source is calm as people are seen going about normal business.
The corpses of the four persons, the source said, have been taken by the police.
