Barely three days after President Muhammadu Buhari visited Plateau State and not too long after Governor Simon Lalong blamed killings in Benue to the anti-open grazing laws in neighbouring Benue, no fewer then 25 people are feared killed following a renewed attack on Monday night on Zir-Shi Maiyanga village in Kwall district of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that Zir-Shi Maiyanga, a remote village said to be about 11 kilometres away from the main road was attacked between 10pm and 11pm by unidentified gunmen but locals said were herders who had been attacking the area
Operation Safe Haven Media and Information Officer Major Adam Umar said by the time the taskforce personnel arrived the village, the attackers had fled adding that they had recovered seven corpses while another person had died in the hospital.
However, the police spoke person, ASP Tyopev Terna said police detachment have been deployed to the area.
