Lots of innovation and creativity were displayed in the Nigerian Military School (NMS) maiden Sports Week.
Special Guest of Honour to the closing ceremony, Air Vice Marshal L.S. Alao expressed this at the closing ceremony, held on Sunday.
“A lot of innovations and creativity has been shown by the boys, this would not have been possible without the effort of the Comdt of the school.
” I also observe the untiring effort invested by the school to achieve excellence in all spheres of education and personality development of the boys,” he said.
He said that the NMS community should continue to focus on sport competition as a way of promoting grassroots sport and producing young talent for the country.
“The organization of sport competition would help to promote the spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship amongst boys.
“I urge those that excelled during this competition to use it as a platform to go higher. Those of you would did not perform as they expect, should use it as a platform for learning and see how you can improve. Congratulation to today winner.
“Whether you have won a medal or not you are all winner, in along the run your active and continued participation in sports would play you rich dividends in terms of fitness, wellbeing and happiness,” he added.
AVM Alao who said that he was highly delighted to be the Special Guest of honour, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the boys in this competition, but added that there is room for improvement.
“I am satisfied with their performance, but that does not mean that there is no room for improvement, I see talents in the boys and I hope they build on what they have learnt here. On this note I say well done for an excellent sport week and congratulation,” he added.
