Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo and former Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe have been confirmed to speak at the first Empowered Leadership Conference in Calabar.
” The conference is aimed at raising better leaders for the country as well as provide mentorship opportunities for aspiring leaders in different areas including business, finance, politics, good governance etc” one of the organiser said

While Mr. Lebo will speak on leadership in politics, Elder Orubebe, the organizers say will speak on leadership in governance. The event is slated to take place on April 14, 2018 at 9am.
According to the facilitator of the event, Pastor Nemi Bassey Ekefre, the conference which will take place at Empowered Christian Church International “is geared towards raising Godly leaders for a better Nigeria as well as create mentorship opportunity for the young ones”
She said “Nigeria is in need of good leaders in all areas of the economy which is why the conference is important for all young people”.
Pastor Ekefre, who is also the senior pastor of Empowered Christian Church International, Calabar, said she was already delighted at the good results the events will yield, knowing fully well that the current critical need of Nigeria is not only good leadership but Godly leadership.
She maintained that apart from politics and governance, the conference will also have speakers handle other areas like financial leadership as well as business leadership.
She called on all young Cross Riverians to avail themselves of the opportunity to learn from those who have gone ahead of them.
