The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State is believed to be at the moment licking its wound over the high profile defection of Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke to main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party.
AUTHENTIC News Daily observed that the city of Katsina on Saturday March 7, 2018, witnessed a carnival-like procession as Senator Lado moved to the venue where he formally defected alongside thousands of supporters.
The former CPC and PDM Katsina gubernatorial candidate, announced decision to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while meeting with his supporters in his Kano residence.
According to him, the decision of joining PDP is based on the fact that APC government has failed woefully adding that there is the need for people to change APC for the desired change.
Senator Yakubu Lado who is a strong loyalist if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is expected to vie race the 2019 gubernatorial election under his new party.
Several banners and placards from supporters carried several messages, but the most dominant reads: ‘Changa Su’ which translated into English, means change them.
As at time of filing this report, the defection ceremony which attracted several dignitaries was still ongoing.
