In view of the threat to life and property as well as the protection of environment, the Malam Nasir el-Rufai-led Kaduna State Government will employ all legitimate means in enforcing truck owners and drivers in using the two state-of-the-art trailers parks being constructed at separate locations within the state.
He explained that the Kaduna State Government alongside two investors are spending N2.7 billion Naira on the construction of a trailer park in Maraban Jos along Kaduna-Zaria Highway and another at Tafa on Abuja-Kaduna Highway to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents.
According to him, the Maraban Jos project which is handled by R&M construction company and the Tafa Park by Whiz China are to be financed on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) arrangement, meaning that the state will only fund fifty per cent of the project while other partners will fund the remaining fifty per cent.

Dabo added that the Maraban Jos park which has a space of 71,000 square meters for parking area alone, will house, restaurants, hotels among other facilities and most importantly stop trailers and other long vehicles from parking along the road.
“This administration is poised at taking transport issues seriously and as part of efforts at revamping the sector, this administration has embarked on repairs and construction of roads in the state”.
He stated that since government cannot do it alone, it had to enter to partnership with the private sector at actualizing the vision.
“This trailer park will have all the basic infrastructure required to ensure that relaxation and comfort are provided to drivers that will use the park while security of lives and properties are assured,” he explained.
According to him, the parks that will have Rigid Pavements are expected to be completed soon.
