My Senatorial Ambition Not Ethnic Agenda – Uduaghan

    Former Delta State Governor,Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan  Uduaghan on Thursday stated that his senatorial ambition for the Delta South Senatorial District is not ethnic.
    Uduaghan made the assertion during a remark when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Warri Correspondents’ Chapel paid him a courtesy visit.
    Uduaghan who noted that the Senatorial Set is rotational between the Itsekiris,Ijaws and Isokos, Uduaghan stated that it is the turn of the Itsekiris in o occupy the seat.
    Uduaghan however pointed that the Itsekiris are really agitating for the Delta South Senatorial Seat.
    He cautioned that if the Itsekiris are serious about the Delta South Senatorial Seat, should pick their best to represent the people.
    “They can even call us for a debate. The Itsekiris might need the Ijaws, Isokos and Urhobo.
    “Am not going to the Senate because am Itsekiri. My aspiration is not ethnic but knowledge and capacity based. It is the turn of the Itsekiris for the Senatorial race.
    “It’s going to be less stressful but no election is easy and am not taking it for granted.
    Uduaghan disclosed that he is gunning for the Delta South Senatorial Seat to make the required laws that will attract development as well as improve the income of the Niger Delta people stressing that he has not made any formal declaration to the effects of his ambition.
    Uduaghan stated that he will soon make his declarations open saying,”I have the capacity,knowledge, experience and contacts to do the needful at the Senate.”
    Uduaghan boasted that he eminently qualified to contest the senatorial seat.
    “legislation is about lobbing. Being a legislator, you must have the ability to lobby. If you have the capacity,it is easier for you to get things for your people and I think I have that capacity not only to lobby but to do things for my Constituency.”
    Uduaghan stated however that any other candidate who thinks he possesses the requisite qualification is free to contest the senatorial seat but that the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) should handle the issues while the electorates decides.
