Justice Dakas Sami of Kaduna State High Court 14 has said that nobody can influence his decision in any matter before him, because he took an oath between him and God to be fair to all and sundry.
He stated this when adjourning a matter for ruling in a case involving a former military administrator of Kebbi State, Colonel John Ubah (Rtd).

Justice Sami who is the presiding Judge of Court 14 was reacting to fears raised by the former MILAD that he may not get justice because some prominent people have indicated interest in the case.
According to the judge nobody can influence his ruling because it is between his conscience and his Maker to be fair to all.
“I want to say it verbatim and be quoted anywhere that when I took the oath of office, it was between me and my God and when am done on this earth I will go back to meet him alone so why should I allow anybody to influence my ruling?
‘’Even the Chief Judge of the Federation cannot influence my ruling. If I make an order or ruling and one is not satisfy with it he can move his/her case forward via appeal.
“So let me appeal to all the parties in this matter that they will get justice based on the point of law they presented before the court and let them disabuse their minds that nobody somewhere will influence my judgment,” he said.
Earlier, Colonel Ubah prayed the court grant him an indefinite adjournment in suit No. KDH/KAD/202/2017, because of the interference by the Honourable Chief Judge of Kaduna State; Justice Tanimu Zailani and his failure to exonerate himself.
“I have reported to the Appropriate Superior Authority, (ASA). I request this Hon. Court to adjourn this matter on Suit No. KDH/KAD/202/2017 sine die, pending the necessary action on it by the ASA,” he added.
