The 133 ambassadors of the El-Rufai Win Project in each of the 23 local government areas of the state are poised in delivering millions of vote for Governor Nasir el-Rufai during the 2019 general elections in Kaduna State.
Project Coordinator, Prince Mukhtar Zubairu expressed this at its inaugural press briefing and meeting, held at the State House Kaduna on Thursday.
He called on the youth in the state to support the trio of President Muhammad Buhari, Governor El-Rufai and Honourable Uba Sani for Kaduna Central Senator.
“In the light of the above, we have begun mobilization of our members and well-meaning eligible voters across the State for sensitization and mass movement for President Muhammadu Buhari, Mal. Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufa’i and Mal. Uba Sani as President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Governor of Kaduna State and Senator representing Kaduna Central respectively come 2019,” he said.
He said the call is pertinent on youths who have the interest of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large at heart to come forth as a formidable team to work and campaign vigorously for President Muhammadu Buhari, Mal. Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufa’i and Mal. Uba Sani as progressives and personalities of impeccable character.
Prince Mukhtar said that the revamping of the educational sector which has witnessed over 800 schools at various stages of renovation in the past three years is a big plus for Governor el-Rufai.
“He revamped the Kaduna state owned furniture company and awarded contracts for the assembling of classroom furniture for the state public schools, employment of over two thousand five hundred science teachers, massive capital projects ongoing in state owned tertiary institutions and increased the budgetary allocations to these institutions, recruitment of 25,000 competent primary school teachers, free primary and junior secondary education/ provision of school uniforms, free feeding program, partnered with Exon Mobil to distribute free tablets containing reading materials to selected senior secondary school students and teachers to mention but a few
Speaking further, he said that the restructuring of governance in Kaduna state by appointing qualified and experienced individuals into his government, rejuvenating of the state Civil Service and ensuring accountability via implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) system, the governor has improved governance in the state.
Similarly, he explained that in Kaduna today, there is improved welfare of civil servants, open governance, embarking on massive road projects across the state at the lowest possible cost and an increase in the state internally generated revenue.
He also pointed out the rehabilitation of health centers, making Kaduna a cleaner state, commitment towards provision of safe drinking water and attracting investors to the state notably is the Olams Group of Companies, Vicampro Potatoes farm in Manchok, the Tomato Jos Farm in Igabi, Blue Camel Energy, Mahindra Tractor Assembling plant have also placed the state ahead of several others.
On security, he said it has improved tremendously within the last three years.
“Job creation. The governor has created the following jobs since assuming office; 2500 Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Control Agencies (KASTELEA) jobs, 2200 Secondary School Science Teachers, over 1000 nurses and health workers, 6600 environmental sanitation workers and the ongoing recruitment of 21,000 qualified primary school teachers. Other ongoing massive job recruitment exercise includes; Kaduna Water Corporation, Kaduna Inland Revenue (KADIRS) recruitment process, Kaduna State Urban Planning Development Agency (KASUPDA) recruitment process.
“Reducing cost of Governance. Governor El-Rufai also reformed the civil service in Kaduna State and reduced the number of ministries from 19 to 14 and the number of permanent secretaries from 35 to 18. In a bid to reduce the cost of governance, El-Rufai appointed only 14 commissioners, 10 Special Advisers and less than 30 Special Assistants as against the 24 Commissioners, 41 Special Advisers as against 400 Special Assistants appointed by the previous administration
He explained that youth have benefitted much through the ensuring of youth inclusiveness in governance.
“On the call on Mal. Uba Sani, as we know he is a man of high repute and a lover of all. We want him to fill the vacuum of the Zone 2 (Kaduna Central) in the National Assembly. He played an unforgettable leading role in the struggle against authoritarianism in Nigeria, leaving behind a footprint of bravery and patriotism. He deployed his organizational and networking skills in creating a strategic base for the pro-democracy movement in Northern Nigeria. He also made ample use of his civil society organization, the Movement for Freedom and Justice to champion the rights of the underprivileged and offered them unfettered access to justice.
“He was variously the National Vice Chairman (North) of Campaign for Democracy (CD) and Deputy National Chairman (North) of the Joint Action Committee (JACON) led by the legendary Chief Gani Fawehinmi, San of blessed memories.
“This is the time the youths of Kaduna Central need Mal. Uba Sani most, and he must accept this call as a matter of urgency. For those that are close to him or if he can hear us where ever he is, we say with a loud voice we dear to say if he decline this call by the people, we would be left with no option than to deny him anything he may desire to get from the people. We are ready to mobilize our friends, loved once, well-wishers and other Comrades in the struggle who are eligible for this campaign, we would not rest until the people are saved from the shackles of misrepresentation.
“In addendum, we need Senators of Kaduna State to be same page on the developmental policies, programs and plans with the state governor and having looked at all available candidates who have showed interest, we found none worthy of our support as youths who have the love of the youths at heart and on this basis we found Mal. Uba Sani the perfect who would assist the State government in its developmental plans if elected as Senator representing Kaduna Central and also as someone who would put the overall state interest above his personal interest.
He informed that the EL-Rufa’i Win Project has its membership drive across the 23 local governments of Kaduna State with objectives which include to showcase the projects and programs carried out by His Excellency Mal. Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufa’i.
