Fear Grips Delta Community As Gunmen Shoot Dead Chief’s Son

    There’s palpable tension in Delta State as gunmen allegedly shot dead Efe, a step-son of former Unuevworo of Ekpan Community Chief Newton Agbofodo, AUTHENTIC NEWS DAILY can report.
    This is coming two months after a Delta State High Court sentenced Chief Newton Agbofodo to death by hanging over alleged murder and other cases.
    AUTHENTIC NEWS DAILY learnt that it was in the heat of the ongoing Ekpan Community crisis that the gunmen loyal to two different factions (names withheld)allegedly shot him dead near the residence of Chief Agbofodo.
    With the ugly incident, the crisis in Ekpan Community has been aggravated as gunmen shot sporadically in the town.
    At the the time of filing this report, residents are scampering for safety for fear of not being hit by stray bullets.
    A Community leader who craved anonymity disclos confirmed the report in a chat with Our Correspondent.
    The Community leader noted that the matter has.been incidented at the Ekpan Police Station just as he condemned the act stressing,”The Community will never the killing of any indigene by a fellow Ekpan person.”
    The Community leader also called on the relevant security agents to fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act and bring them to justice.
    Contacted,the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka did not pick phone calls put across to his mobile phone line.
