Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has advised parents to pay attention to moulding discipline the character of their children, to enable them become responsible citizens capable of leading the country to greater heights.

Gov.Ganduje gave the advice on Monday, during the 2018 International Children’s Day Celebration at the Government House, Kano.
The governor explained that parents were responsible for what their children become in the future, hence the need for them to ensure that their kids were not morally defective.
He said that his administration was resolute in providing security, health care and education for the children, to complement parental efforts in making them responsible adults.
The governor said: “This administration is committed to children’s education and their overall well-being, because they are the legacy of Kano’’.
The governor further said his administration was committed to eliminating childhood killer diseases as well as the reducing child/ maternal morbidity and mortality rate in the state.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya ‘Yardada Maikano Bichi, appreciated the state governor for empowering women and providing qualitative education for the children in the state.
The Speaker of the National Children’s Parliarment, Hon. Maisara Abdulkadir, thanked the governor and his wife for their roles in supporting less privileged children in the state.
He also expressed gratitude to the social and child welfare department in the state for supporting the vulnerable children.
Highlights of the occasion include distribution gifts of noodles and writing materials to the children present, by the state governor.
