Prison officials faced a herculean task in conveying former Governor of Kaduna State,  Mukhtar Ramalan Yero to the Kaduna Convict Prison  as supporters went on rampage outside the Federal High Court premises throwing stones at the black Maria and three escort vehicles meant for the movement.

Soldiers drafted to disperse Yero supporters from the scene.
Several  shots were fired,  though it was unclear who fired the shots,  but it may be security forces,  clearing the angry youth who stormed  the premises.
The prison vehicles which arrived the court around 1pm, we’re held hostage until about 1:48pm, when some soldiers came to the scene and we’re sighted sending some of the youth running away.

Before  then,  some of the youth went on rampage,  blocking the highway and damaging  the shed used  by traffic warden at the Nigerian Defence  Academy (NDA)  junction directly opposite the court.
It was at exactly 2:01pm that the convoy drove out of the  court premises,  four hours after the judge ordered the remand in prison custody.

The black Maria which was earlier brought  was a decoy as Yero alongside  his three alleged  accomplices were escorted into a plain white Toyota 14 seater  bus,  which drove out as part of the convoy.
