Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has solicited prayers for the people of Zamfara and the troubled northeast Nigeria over the incessant killings and terrorism by suspected armed bandits and Boko Haram insurgents.

Speaking shortly, after observing iftar with council chairmen of the 23 local government area of the state where he charged them to be their brothers’keepers.
Tambuwal call on the council of ulamas and the entire people of Sokoto state to embark on special prayers for peace and end to the senseless killings in all parts of the country.
Zamfara state have been under incessants attacks by suspected armed bandits that killing over a hundred people and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
According to him ” we are all living witnesses to what is happening in our neighbouring state here Zamfara, so we need to cherish the peace that we have here in Sokoto State and continue to nurture it.
He added that “On this note, I will appeal to all the ulamas in the state and every good citizens in Sokoto state to pray special prayers for our neighbours the people of Zamfara state and for our brothers and sisters in the northeast and where ever we are having some unrest and killings in Nigeria so that God Almighty will intervene and this killings should stop.
Over 35 persons were recently reportedly killed in renewed attacks on four villages by armed bandits while over 40 traders were said to have been abducted and two policemen killed in the process.
