No fewer than two students of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Kawo, Kaduna, North West Nigeria have reportedly died, while 50 other students are said to have been affected by a cholera outbreak.
Although, our reporter reports that there was a prompt response from the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, as Director Public Health of the Ministry Dr. Ado Zakari, was sighted at the school and other officials from the Ministry.

A parent, Mr. Yakub Ibrahim who spoke to newsmen on phone at about 3:57 PM on Monday says: “my orphan daughter is among the students affected and since been taken to the Hospital”.
Yakubu Ibrahim who could not disclosed the name of his affected daughter confirmed to our reporter that as he speaks attentions were being given to the affeted students.
According to him, “Students were educated on the preventive measures as many were conveyed to Kawo General Hospital to ascertain their health status.
“The Officials of Nigerian Red Cross and other officials were also sighted at the school premises, supporting the evacuation of affected students to the hospital and also fumigating the school environment to keep it save.
Speaking in empathy, he urged the Kaduna State Government to take urgent steps at halting the situation, so as not to go out of hands.
