Opposition Can’t Vote Okowa Out In 2019 – Aide

    The Special Assistant on Special Duties to Delta State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ikeke on Monday said the Opposition in Delta does not have the power and capacity to vote oyt Sen.(Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa from Government House.
    Ikeke made the assertion at a Press Conference at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
    Ikeke said Governor Okowa has eight years tenure to rule, saying”After eight years, another person can come in. Not now. Not this 2019. Because 2019-2023, Dr. Okowa is there. No vacancy in Government House”.
    “They don’t have the power to vote Dr. Okowa out of Government House. There is no vacancy in Government House.
    ” If you go are looking for a house in this building and you get there, and they tell you somebody is there, it means there is no vacancy.

    Ikeke noted that Governor deserves a second term because he has performed creditably well in the administration of the State especially with the provision of infrastructural development, construction of roads, renovation of primary schools, the payment of backlog of arrears owed civil servants as well as the completion of Asaba international airport.
    Ikeke stressed that Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has been able to affect the lives of the grassroots people positively pointing out that,”He is not just working in the Cities but in the rural areas, he is still working hard.”
    Ikeke called on Deltans to obtain their National Identity Cards and PVCs’ so as to enable them perform their civic responsibilities in the forthcoming elections.
    “Your PVC is your power. Without that your PVC, you cannot vote. You don’t have the power to say I am going to INEC Office or this or that or polling boot. So, let them have their PVC.
    He disclosed that he has mobilized over five hundred of his supports from Agbarho, Warri and its environs for registration of the National Identity Card and their PVC’s for the return of Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa back to Government House.
    Ikeke explained that the registration is important saying,”You are not a citizen of this Country if you don’t have a National ID Card. You are not a citizen of this country. If you don’t use it for voting, you can use it for other things.”
    Ikeke also appealed to politicians to help Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to succeed just as he thanked him for his appointment.
    “I congratulate Dr. Okowa for appointing me. He knows am a man of integrity that is why he appointed me.”
