    Hours of  downpour on Wednesday,  crippled activities in Kaduna metropolis.
    The heavy  rainfall that was witnessed across the four metropolitan local government areas of the state capital,  kept workers and business men indoors.
    As at the time of filing this report around 10:45am, the central business district in the metropolis had about 90 per  cent  of its  shops and offices open.
    Even the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists  (NUJ), Kaduna State Council  was still under locks as at 11am.
    Commercial  motor cyclists and public transport operators took advantage of the condition to hike transport  fares.
    The rain which began a little  after midnight  has not  stopped as at time of filing this report,  it was still drizzling,  a development that might affect economic activities on Wednesday.
    Farmers are however,  delighted about the development. Those who spoke to our correspondent,  blessed  God for the showers of blessings.
    Muhammadu Buhari Way, usually very busy major road in Kaduna metropolis deserted around 10:45am on Wednesday June 20, as a result of rains.
