President General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club Dr. Rafiu Oladipo has joined millions of Nigerians in congratulating the Super Eagles for their 2-0 defeat of Iceland in their second Group D match at the on- going Russia, 2018 World Cup.
In a congratulatory message he sent to the team shortly after the encounter, he stated that the victory was well deserved and commended the team for playing from the wings which ensured victory and gave them hope of qualifying for the next stage of the championship.
He charged them to take the same mentality into the Argentina game and defeat the South Americans since according to him they are beatable.
” I must have to congratulate the Super Eagles for making Nigerians happy. Their victory over Iceland is commendable and am happy they achieved that feet because they operated from the wings.
” I want them to exhibit the same determination and character when they meet Argentina on Tuesday
“I know we can beat them because they are beatable. All our players need to do is to remain focused and determined”, he stated.
In his own congratulatory message, the CEO of SIFAX Group of Company, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi explained that he had earlier predicted that the Eagles will beat Iceland with the same goal margin and was happy that his prediction came to pass.
He stated that if the team can re- enact the form that made them beat Iceland against Argentina, they will take the former two- time World champions to the cleaners even as he commended members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club for their support to the team during the match and urged them to continue supporting the Super Eagles at the Mundial.
Also speaking, ex- international Wahidi Akani, praised the Eagles for doing the country proud and expressed optimism that they have what it takes to beat Argentina and progress to the knockout stage of the competition.
The next and final group D match of the ongoing FIFA world Cup will be played in saint Petersburg in Russia. Where Super Eagles takes on two times world Cup Champion, Argentina in a make or mar encounter.
