To prevent  the relegation to the background,  the Kaduna State Christians Pilgrims  Welfare Board  is a result of  inactivity,  a passionate  call has been made to political appointees  and public  spirited  individuals to adopt the noble gesture of sponsoring Christians  who  cannot afford it to  pilgrimage to  Jerusalem.

The call was made by the Director General, Bureau for Interfaith Kaduna State, Engr. Namadi Musa when interacting with newsmen in Kaduna on  at the weekend.

He explained that such inactivity could make staff of the Christians Pilgrims Welfare Board  redundant.

Engineer  Musa appealed  that the only  solution in the short run is the sacrifice from people  who can sponsor Christian  Pilgrims.

Considering the situation and low turn out  of the Christian Pilgrims in Kaduna State, Christian appointees should endeavor to pay for their followers to perform the Christian Pilgrimage,” he said.

When asked if the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board  is facing the same threat of redundancy,  he said for now they  are not.

“More so, the Muslim Pilgrims have more followers that will perform this year’s Pilgrimage unlike the Christian Pilgrims where they have a low turn out,” he pointed out.

The DG stressed that Christians politicians sacrifice to actualizing the Pilgrimage dreams of  followers will also impact positively on their electoral fortunes.
