
A total of 25 coaches based in Kaduna State have been sponsored by the management of Kada City for CAF C Licence Course.
Presenting the forms, acquired at the rate of N150,000 each to the coaches on Thursday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, CEO Kada City FC, Honourable Ekene Adams Abubakar said that it is a dream come true.
He said it is one of the promises made when unveiling the club six months ago.
“We promised sponsoring 50 coaches for CAF C, we have fulfilled 25,” he said.
He however, expressed disappointed with some of the coaches for turning up late for the ceremony .
“I am disappointed in so many of you because you don’t know the value of this, you came late,” he said.
He explained that football is a big business that can impact on communities, urging them to do well in the course.
“Gentlemen, congratulations! We have processed the forms and paid your fees. But you must key in. Go there, get the licence, come back and make impact.
“I am seeing Kada Sports management, employing not less than 10 of you in the nearest future,” he said.
“It is easier for you to give back to the young ones because they see you as a role model.
“I want to see the zeal in you. Kaduna is blessed, with you around, we can change the face of sports in Kaduna because sports is real big business.
“You must key into this. I am only a ladder you can use to achieve your dreams.
While fielding questions, one of the beneficiaries, ex international, Sunday Johnson (Sydney 2000 Olympic Team) thanked Kada City CEO and management for recognizing ex internationals in Kaduna and coming out to sponsor them for the course.
” As an ex international without the licence, you can’t go out to coach. Your name cannot speak for you, you need the licence, ” he said.
Another ex international, Aliyu Ahmed who played in Poland during active years, described the CAF C course as an opportunity to touch more lives.
“This is not just a chance for me, but for their entire community,” he said.
