Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed on Tuesday evening, laid to rest speculations over his political future as he announced that he has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Ahmed made the announcement via his twitter handle at exactly 6:25pm on Tuesday July 31, 2018.
“Following consultations and in response to calls by major stakeholders in the state, I have moved to the PDP as APC can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of my people,” the Governor said.
Barely a week ago, Governor of Benue. State also dumped the APC for the PDP.
On Monday, former deputy governor of Niger State who was a serving Ambassador to South Africa, Ibeto also dumped the APC for PDP.
There are also rumours that the National Publicity Secretary of the APC is also perfecting plans to quit the party.
Sources said he has already moved his personal belongings out of the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
